We probably have not seen a year as of this year – 2020. This year is different, starting from March 23rd. Everything in life has changed. Running a marathon is not an exception. However, this doesn’t stop us from meeting and doing exercise virtually.
Strider’s team started meeting virtually to continue the exercise on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday at 6:30 AM from April onwards. Slowly we started doing a solo run. We had to learn how to run after months of lockdown.
Running is infectious. You need one person to just start running the distance and posting the same in the group chat. This is what happened in our group. Some of the elite runners in our group (Vinodh, GK, Pradeep, Preethi) started posting their solo run stats. This inspired the group.
We got an opportunity to run a longer distance on August 15th and 16th. Independence day was celebrated with a virtual solo marathon/cycling.
From our group, twenty five individuals did a virtual solo marathon/cycling from different parts of the world. Some of the folks broke their milestones.
Our group did a distance of 750 Kms as a part of the independence day run event. This kms will translate to contribution from our side to the needy ones through the fit4life initiative.
We can always find something good in every bad situation. The current situation is not best suited for group running. But, this should not stop us from running solo.
This is the best time to getting into the habit of walking or running.
Join us virtually from any part of the world and start your running journey. The sessions are focused on building the required strength for legs, shoulders, knee, etc. Each session activity is planned. It is a different experience to do exercise together virtually.
Stay fit and stay safe.
Happy running.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.
Why do this?
The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.
To help you get started, here are a few questions:
You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.
Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.
When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
